Current Event!!!!!!

1.  It could have either been a farm accident or somebody not following the burn ban. At 10:30 a.m. officials let people in burn ban areas return home. The fire burned 34,000 acres and damaged 1,600 homes. The cost estamate of the damges is hundreds of millions of dollars!! Thats a lot of money!

2. Central Texas has stopped using paper textbooks and is now using online textbooks. Online textbooks are cheaper and prepare students for their future. The program isn't that user-friendly and it is hard for people if they need help, like the Robertsons. Melissa likes the online textbooks because there are videos, she can upload content and its more interactive.  leander doesn't have the money to fix their wifi therefore it would cost them even more money to make their wifi faster. I personally don't see a difference in the shift because it is all the same material just in a different format.
3. Traudeau legalized marijuana, dropped the US bombing campaign against and that changed the economy. They aren't going to bomb Islam. This will also change the fact that there will weed everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. Alan Guckian is a semi-finalist for the 2016 Music educator Award. There are 25 semifinalists and he is one of the 4,500 who were originally in it. He has a pretty good chance of winning. He will through his students a pizza party if he wins.

 5. Shaka Smart wants the players to be smart and athletic. He is making new rules and ways to make the players have drive to be smart by only allowing intellectual players to have playing time.

current event quiz

 1. The city council can get free Austin City Limits passes but many members are declining them. They are giving them out because in the article it says "“City, through its Parks and Recreation Department, Police, Fire, Safety, other designated representatives, shall have the right at any time to enter any portion of the Property for any purpose.” so the council members can attend. Rick and Don thought that there was a rule saying that council members can't accept gifts. Romero confirmed that members can accept the tickets. Kitchen used the passes and Houston gave them to 311 operators. I don't think that there is any problem with this perk because the workers deserve it.
2. Oklahoma  has to change what they use for the death penalty because the drug is illegal. All of the states that use these injection have to find another way to kill their people. Midazolam is a "short acting sedative" is apparently unreliable.
3. The prime Minister of Israel barred his ministers from visiting and Old City holy site. He also ordered the police to stop letting people from the parliament go there. He didn't want to "alter the status quo". The parliament didn't care and they went anyway. Muhanad was an extremist and murdered two othadox men and was later shot dead. He was part of the riots.
4. Svetlana Alexievich, a belarussian writer who studies russian world war two and the chernobyl nuclear accident. Her work is manly non-fiction, which shows some rarity from other female writers that have won. She blends literature and journalism. She says that she is proud of herself and will proceed to write in the future and still has new writing ahead of her.

Observation Practice

I sat outside with Claire at a picnic table. The weather was very nice, it was a clear day. We watched the english class through the window and there were a few other people outside. I saw people waving to me and then I realized that it was my boyfriend and my friends Mamie and Isabella. Then I realized that their was a substitute and he was shooting me a death glare so I ran away.
