current event quiz

 1. The city council can get free Austin City Limits passes but many members are declining them. They are giving them out because in the article it says "“City, through its Parks and Recreation Department, Police, Fire, Safety, other designated representatives, shall have the right at any time to enter any portion of the Property for any purpose.” so the council members can attend. Rick and Don thought that there was a rule saying that council members can't accept gifts. Romero confirmed that members can accept the tickets. Kitchen used the passes and Houston gave them to 311 operators. I don't think that there is any problem with this perk because the workers deserve it.
2. Oklahoma  has to change what they use for the death penalty because the drug is illegal. All of the states that use these injection have to find another way to kill their people. Midazolam is a "short acting sedative" is apparently unreliable.
3. The prime Minister of Israel barred his ministers from visiting and Old City holy site. He also ordered the police to stop letting people from the parliament go there. He didn't want to "alter the status quo". The parliament didn't care and they went anyway. Muhanad was an extremist and murdered two othadox men and was later shot dead. He was part of the riots.
4. Svetlana Alexievich, a belarussian writer who studies russian world war two and the chernobyl nuclear accident. Her work is manly non-fiction, which shows some rarity from other female writers that have won. She blends literature and journalism. She says that she is proud of herself and will proceed to write in the future and still has new writing ahead of her.
